At today’s London Policy & Strategy Network session as part of London Challenge Poverty Week, we hosted Trust for London to discover London’s Poverty Profile.

London’s Poverty Profile from Trust for London and WPI Economics provides evidence on and insight into poverty and inequality in London.

Manny Hothi, Chief Executive of Trust for London, introduced the five themes of London’s Poverty Profile to find out more about poverty and inequality in our capital.

We then broke out to explore what specific poverty challenges we could work together on across boroughs that you can contribute to on the Jamboard.

If you want would like to share ideas on themes and speakers for next year’s sessions, if you’ve got 5 minutes, grab a cuppa and fill in this short survey.

London Challenge Poverty Week

This year London Challenge Poverty Week is needed more than ever. Many in our city have had £20 a week cut from their Universal Credit and increasing costs including significant increases in fuel prices, will push people further into poverty. We need to come together to demonstrate what this will mean: that more will go hungry, lose their homes or be cold this winter. And we must call for an urgent commitment from politicians and decision-makers, activists, employers, employees, trade unions, public services, voluntary organisations and local communities, to challenge poverty once and for all

London Challenge Poverty Week is open to all who share the aim of creating a city free from poverty, where everyone is treated with equal respect and dignity. Anyone can get involved by holding or joining an event or activity.
