Human change, done with care: how the People Team are supporting transitions
In a week full of transitions, the People Team have been quietly holding space for big change.
They’ve finalised contract letters for the Regenerative Development redesign, prepared for new consultations (Bereavement, Public Health & Regulation), and supported follow-on work for Social Prescribing.
They’re also switching our recruitment platform to Tribepad, launching a new Product Owner role, and working with Finance and Revenues & Benefits on job design.
“Behind every change are people — and people need clarity, care and time.”
Other councils — like Northumberland with their agile workforce model and Essex County Council’s workforce alignment work — show how transitions can be paced with care and connected to purpose.
As consultations ramp up, the team are helping pace the process, support transitions, and embed the new roles and structures that will shape what comes next.
Joining it all up: how People & Change are shaping the way we work together
Across the whole People & Change team, we’ve been creating shared work programmes that align with our purpose and make everyone’s role clearer.
We’ve met with Core Services to explore how to collaborate better across digital, finance and legal teams — and we’re preparing for a whole team session to reflect and align.
“This is about how we show up — for each other, and for the people we serve.”
Brent’s Future Ways of Working and the systems thinking supported by the Centre for Public Impact offer other models for rethinking how we align, adapt and act as one.
We’re not just redesigning services. We’re redesigning how we work as one team, one organisation, with shared purpose and mutual support.
