How can we, as a collective of professionals in public services, develop a system of relational public services that can bring together local communities and work better for communities?
Relational public services have the potential to significantly enhance outcomes by empowering citizens with more control and confidence to address their issues.
How can we develop a system of relational public services that can bring together local communities and facilitate people’s building relationships with others, the community at large, and the people who provide the services?
The London Policy & Strategy Network took great pride in hosting Polly Mackenzie, the Chief Executive of Demos. Mackenzie introduced Demos’s major new research programme, which aims to reimagine public services, with a particular focus on local government.
We then engaged in breakouts, fostering a collaborative environment where everyone could share lessons learned and experiences on:
- How is your organisation developing services based more on relationships?
- What are the challenges & opportunities?
- What tools & methods can help?
See the Jamboard for the insights that came out from the breakout groups.
